Adept Power Solutions LtdAdept Power Solutions is proud to announce it now supplies high quality and cost effective Diesel Generators from JCB; a British icon and powerhouse of the manufacturing world. Industry knowledge ensures our Diesel Generator Solutions provide the reliability your business infrastructure needs. JCB Generators offer unrivalled performance, low fuel consumption and low noise. But on top of that is their clean-sheet-of-paper approach that’s enabled them to look forward to 2011 and beyond, designing the base engine to meet future emissions legislation. Such foresight pays when it comes to protecting your investment well into the future.

In line with the rest of the range, these units are available in open or canopied and 50 or 60Hz variations, with a multitude of voltage options. Fork pockets and a single point lift on all canopy builds, increase mobility. The compact dimensions of the baseframe and canopy design also optimise transportability, whether by trailer or craned vehicle. These features are coupled with the compact, robust and resilient design of JCB canopies: all are designed using structural calculus programmes that make sure every component really performs under the most extreme conditions.

Power Cuts to Sweep Across Britain

Adept Power Solutions LtdBritain could experience widespread power cuts within eight years, the Government has admitted. The country is expected to experience an energy shortfall equivalent to an hour-long power cut for half of Britain over a year. The situation could worsen by 2025, with the shortfall in electricity expected to double.

That could lead to power rationing for the first time since the 1970s when a strike by miners hit coal supplies. The admission comes in a Government report, titled Low Carbon Transition Plan, which was launched in July and published online. The next government has an urgent task to accelerate the deployment of a new generating capacity. The document sets out a target for "clean" technology - such as wind, wave and solar - to supply 40% of the country's power by 2020.

Nine oil and coal-fired power plants and four nuclear plants will be shut down by 2015, as part of anti-pollution measures. An extra section in the report suggests there will be a shortfall by 2017, when the "energy unserved" level is predicted to reach 3,000 megawatt hours per year.

By 2025 the situation is expected to worsen, with the shortfall hitting 7,000 megawatt hours per year. The Tories accused the Government of "burying its head in the sand". Shadow energy secretary Greg Clark said: "Britain faces blackouts because the Government has put its head in the sand about Britain's energy policy for a decade.

"Over the next 10 years we need to replace one third of our generating capacity but Labour has left it perilously late, and has been forced to admit they expect power cuts for the first time since the 1970s."

He added: "The next government has an urgent task to accelerate the deployment of a new generating capacity."

APS & SOCOMEC Support Cancer Research UK

APS and Socomec at Everest Base CampAPS in partnership with SOCOMEC UK climb new heights in the name of Cancer Research UK.

Marc Cresswell, of APS, undertook the challenging expedition to reach the infamous Mount Everest Base Camp. SOCOMEC helped Marc exceed his goal sponsorship target of £2,000 for Cancer Research UK with their donation.

Marc had planned the expedition for 18 months but regretfully was stopped from reaching his final goal by a British Doctor just 800 meters short of Base Camp due to suffering from high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE).

Cancer Research UK

“Travelling to Nepal was a lifetimes dream and an amazing experience, obviously to be forced to turn around so close to Base Camp was a huge personal disappointment, but the real aim of the trip was to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and in that I am glad to say we performed heroically. In the end with SOCOMEC’s help we smashed our target and increased awareness of this dreadful disease, it’s incredible what can be achieved by working closely together”.

SOCOMEC UPS and APS Ltd have been working in partnership for more than 2 years and Socomec are now celebrating their 40th anniversary of successfully manufacturing UPS.
